About Dr. Rosie

Dr. Rosie Strelnick is a Nationally Certified Licensed Illinois Acupuncturist and Oriental Medicine Practitioner with a Doctor of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine.  After earning a Bachelor’s of Arts in East Asian Studies and Philosophy from Lawrence University in Appleton, WI, Dr. Rosie ventured to San Diego, CA to attend Pacific College of Oriental Medicine (PCOM) – an institution known for its intensive acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine instruction, as well as its emphasis on integration with Western Medicine. She studied at PCOM for four years to acquire her MSTOM and Clean Needle Technique Certificate. Rosie recently graduated with her DACM (Doctor of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine) from PCOM in August 2016.

At a young age Rosie decided to pursue a career in acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM).   Plagued by numerous health issues as a child and teenager, Dr. Rosie went through extensive and various types of Western medicine treatments but was unsuccessful in finding anything that would alleviate her conditions. Exhausted by failed attempts, she turned to alternative options and was introduced to acupuncture and TCM – they changed her life, finally providing her the relief she had long been searching for.  From then on, she knew she was meant to help people heal naturally, set her life on course to become an acupuncturist, and continues to use her own personal experience as the foundation for her practice.

Dr. Rosie takes particular interest in treating psycho-emotional disorders, chemotherapy side effects, and pain management/sports medicine. Along with treating illness and providing preventative medicine through acupuncture, Dr. Rosie utilizes other healing modalities such as gua sha, moxibustion, cupping, tui na massage, and food therapy.  While studying at PCOM, she treated patients at a Geriatric Free Clinic, UCSD’s Owen Clinic specializing in treating HIV patients, and Community Clinic. Dr. Rosie also had a life changing opportunity to study intensively in Beijing, China at the WHO Collaborative International Acupuncture Training Center. This experience allowed her to be exposed to a variety of techniques and conditions.

Dr. Rosie is happy to be back in the Midwest to provide a healing, life-changing, natural healthcare practice to the residents of Chicago.
